Inspiration

Whenever I need to spark my creativity, these are the people and things I look at. I would say they have shaped my “design taste” over the years.

❤️ Individual humans I admire

She’s committed to making good Product Design more accessible for Spanish-speakers, and her work has reached many people. Her book “Diseño desde Marte” has been one of my favorite readings about how to run a complete and successful design project.

He makes me proud to be an economist. He’s obsessed with human behavior, and learning from mistakes. His podcast “Cautionary Tales” is constantly on my top “listening to” list.

She’s a Youtuber that explains art history and architectural principales with fun examples. I love how curious and authentic she is. Yes, I obviously took her art history course.

He’s a Youtuber and former NASA engineer, who explains engineering and physics concepts in the most entertaining way.

She’s a communication nerd, and her work has helped me grow as a designer (for example usability, readability, testing).

She’s a prop maker (for films and tv). I love her creativity, attention to detail, and resourcefulness, as well as her openness to teach others.

He’s my favorite film director, with a very clear vision and a unique way of telling stories. He’s style has been emulated many times, because of how iconic it is. I like the way fans of him made the “Accidentally Wes Anderson” site and community.

As an additional note, I admire the way all these humans turned their ideas and interests into ways of helping others, as well as making a living out of it.

⭐ Organizations or products I admire

They make mediation and sleep (two habits that influence human brains a lot) easy and even fun, using psychological principles.

They make STEM learning easy and entertaining. I especially like their “paths”, so you can see your progress, and the fact that they teach with practical problems.

They help people expand their UX (and behavioral comprehension) skills with real-life examples, in an engaging way (through comics!).

They make workshops fun for participants, but also, easier for the facilitator. I’ve used it for years, and it always has the same delightful effect on my audience.

Just like Mark Rober, they mix science, design, and culture in different formats, with educational goal. I find their balance something hard to achieve.

I love this tool. I use it almost every single day. It helps me put all the ideas I have in my head onto something other people can see, and interact with. I like how open it is in terms of format, and how it’s always evolving.

It started as the “Yoga With Adriene” Youtube channel, and evolved into a website, app, subscription service, and global community, around healthy and mindful habits. I admire how it has grown over time, and the good impact it has.
